Hello, and welcome to City Hall. As City Manager it is my honor to serve the people of Baxley, Georgia. Our city employees take great pride in their city and it shows! From the public works department to the police station you'll find dedicated and highly skilled folks, who make the city seem to run without effort. It takes teamwork to do what we do everyday and to provide our fellow citizens with the highest quality of service. This dedication has not gone unnoticed. In January of 2000 the city was designated as a Better Hometown by the State of Georgia, recognizing the revitalization efforts in our downtown historic and shopping district. Our water quality has been recognized nationally (see the article in Public Works), and recently our council members voted to become a City of Ethics to maintain the highest standards of conduct. Also, most recently, our city was fortunate enough to be selected as one of the coveted ten Cities of Excellence by the Georgia Municipal Association. Our city is growing and prospering as the South becomes a haven from harsh winters and the crowded and polluted conditions found in some urban areas of the country.
